Medical Device & Inventory Technician


CardioNet provides a new, integrated technology and service—mobile outpatient cardiac telemetry—which allows heartbeat-by-heartbeat, ECG monitoring, analysis and response, at home or away, 24/7/365.

Summary

To support the Distribution and Inventory Department by testing medical devices, and by receiving, preparing, and shipping orders accurately and timely.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in bringing the packages to and from the delivery truck.
  • Breakdown kits and prepare patient kits accurately with the appropriate contents based on the specific patients’ needs.
  • Clean equipment and configure devices for the next patient.
  • Test devices using computer-assisted testing software to meet or exceed predefined testing criteria.
  • Distinguish between working and nonworking devices and pull out nonworking devices to be evaluated and repaired.
  • Distinguish between which consumable supplies can be reused and which should be disposed of.
  • Track consumable supplies and replenish as needed.
  • Ship orders using UPS according to current procedures and based on the specific patients’ needs.
  • Utilize device tracking system for the purpose of inventory control and system utilization measurement.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Detail oriented and a team player essential.
  • Sensitivity to patient needs and patient confidentiality required.
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications and MS Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook. PC skills required.
  • Two years work experience in product testing, inspection, and inventory control preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical devices, modems, electronic testing devices and simulators a plus.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work accurately under pressure preferred.
